APEX LEGENDS CROSS-PLAY

Are you looking to squad up with your friends but each of you have different game consoles? Well good news, cross-play is Available in Apex Legends!

That’s right, as of October 6, 2020, Apex Legends has let players play with their friends across different platforms. Here’s how to get started!

How To Add Friends on Apex Legends

If you are planning on playing with your friends on console or PC, make sure to enable cross-play in the

settings. Then you’ll follow these steps to add them!

1. Bring up your social menu.

2. Click Find Friend.

3. Type in their EA ID. You can change how people can find you in your privacy settings and

changing how players can search you by going to Allow Users to Search For Me By, then choose

any of the following:

  • Email

  • PSN Online ID for Playstation

  • Xbox Live Gamertag for Xbox

  • Nintendo Nickname for Nintendo Switch

Now your friend will get an invite in which they can accept, reject, or block your request on their main menu. Once Accepted, you can play any game mode together including Trios, Duos, Ranked, and any LTM that is available at the time!

From here on out you can go to your social menu and see EA friends who are online, this space will be

empty if they are offline. You will see your friends who are on the same platform and their current

status here, as well. When your EA friends are online, you will be able to see which platform they’re

presently logged into.

What Platforms Are Cross-Play Enabled?

You can cross-play for Apex Legends on these platforms:

  • Origin

  • Steam

  • Xbox

  • Nintendo Switch

  • PlayStation

Currently Mobile DOES NOT allow for cross-play.

When cross-play is enabled, matchmaking will also place you in lobbies with people on other platforms. So beware if you are trying to avoid those sweaty PC lobbies!
